Revive Mobile Detailing is the local mobile exterior detailing service Fort Wayne and Allen County drivers trust to bring their paint back to life. From everyday road grime and Indiana winter salt to brake dust, bug splatter, and the slow buildup of contaminants that dull your clear coat, we handle every exterior surface — and we do it all at your driveway, office, or wherever your car is parked. No automatic brushes, no shop visits, no waiting around.

Indiana weather is rough on a vehicle's exterior. Road salt from January eats into clear coat and trim. Spring brings pollen, mud, and bird droppings that bake onto paint in the first warm sun. Summer adds UV damage, bug residue, and tar from softening asphalt. Fall drops sap and tree debris onto every parked car. Without regular exterior detailing, those contaminants bond to your paint over time and start permanently degrading the clear coat — once that damage is done, it's much harder and more expensive to reverse.
A professional exterior detail does more than make your car look better. It physically removes the contaminants that damage paint long-term, restores clarity and depth to dull clear coat, and protects your investment in the vehicle's resale value. Cars that get detailed regularly hold their trade-in value better, look newer for longer, and avoid the expensive paint correction or repainting that eventually comes for neglected exteriors.
A drive-through car wash is convenient — but it's also one of the worst things you can do to your vehicle's paint long-term. Automatic brushes drag dirt and grit across your clear coat with every cycle, creating thousands of tiny scratches called "swirl marks" that show up clearly in direct sunlight. Most drive-through washes also use harsh chemicals that strip wax and sealant protection, leaving your paint more exposed to damage than before you started.
Exterior detailing uses hand-washing technique with proper two-bucket method, soft microfiber tools, pH-balanced soaps, and finishing products that ADD protection instead of stripping it. We decontaminate paint, clean wheels and tires properly, polish glass streak-free, and finish with wax or sealant that locks in the result. The difference between a drive-through wash and a real exterior detail is the difference between maintaining your vehicle and slowly destroying it.
We don't skip steps. Our standard exterior detail is a complete restoration of every exterior surface:
We start by pre-rinsing to remove loose dirt, then apply a foam soap that breaks down grime and lifts contaminants away from the paint before any contact. This pre-treatment step is what prevents fine scratches from forming during washing — most car washes skip it entirely.
We hand wash your vehicle using the two-bucket method — one bucket for clean soapy water, one for rinsing dirt off the wash mitt. This prevents the dirt picked up from your car from going back onto the paint and creating swirl marks. No automatic brushes, no shared wash mitts, just careful hand washing.
Wheels get a separate deep clean — brake dust, tar, road grime, and brake fluid residue. We use wheel-safe cleaners that lift contaminants without damaging the finish, including the inside barrel of the wheel where most cleaning never reaches. Tires get cleaned and treated with a satin tire dressing that looks clean without that greasy "wet look."
Bug splatter on the front bumper, road tar around the wheel wells, and tree sap on the hood and roof — these contaminants bond to clear coat and damage it the longer they sit. We use specialty solvents and clay treatments to lift them safely without damaging the paint underneath.
After washing, your paint still has bonded contaminants on the surface that washing alone can't remove — industrial fallout, rail dust, tree sap residue, and other particles you can feel as roughness when you run your hand across the paint. Clay bar treatment safely lifts all of it, leaving the paint glass-smooth and ready for protection.
All exterior glass — windshield, side windows, rear window, mirrors — polished streak-free. We use professional glass cleaners that don't leave the chalky residue most retail products do. Clean glass also improves rain visibility and helps water bead away during driving.
Plastic and rubber trim around windows, mirrors, and bumpers oxidizes and turns gray over time. We clean and condition trim to restore the deep black factory look and protect against further UV damage. Big visual improvement on most vehicles.
We finish with a premium wax or paint sealant that locks in the result, adds gloss and depth, and protects the paint from contaminants for the next several weeks. If you want longer-lasting protection (months instead of weeks), ask us about paint protection upgrades.

A standard exterior detail typically runs 2 to 3 hours depending on vehicle size and condition. Larger trucks and SUVs, vehicles with heavy contamination, or vehicles needing specialty treatment can take longer. We'll give you an honest time estimate when we quote.
Yes, when done correctly. Touchless car washes use high pressure and harsh chemicals that don't physically clean the paint — they just blast off the loose dirt and strip your wax. Bonded contaminants stay on the paint. Our hand wash uses the two-bucket method with proper technique and pH-balanced soap to physically remove dirt without scratching the clear coat, and finishes with wax or sealant that actively protects your paint instead of stripping it.
Most of the time, yes. Light water spots (recent or shallow) come out during the regular detail or clay bar step. Severely etched water spots (mineral deposits that have eaten into the clear coat after months of exposure) may need polishing or paint correction to fully remove. We'll let you know during the walk-through which type you're dealing with.
Both add protection and gloss, but they last different amounts of time. Carnauba wax gives the deepest, warmest shine and lasts 4-8 weeks. Synthetic sealant gives a glassier finish and lasts 4-6 months. We use whichever fits your vehicle and what you want from the protection. For even longer protection (1-3+ years), look at our paint protection page for ceramic coating options.
Not when we follow proper technique. Most paint damage during washing comes from shortcuts: dirty wash mitts, harsh brushes, contaminated towels, or rushing the process. We use clean microfiber tools, the two-bucket method, and never reuse a dirty wash mitt on clean paint. Done right, hand washing actively protects your paint instead of damaging it.
For exterior service, no — we don't need access to the interior. As long as the vehicle is parked somewhere we can work, we can complete the exterior detail without you being there. Many customers schedule exterior service during work hours.
A standard detail with wax stays looking great for about 4-8 weeks before the protection wears off and contaminants start building up again. Sealants last 4-6 months. Ceramic coatings (under our paint protection service) last 1-3+ years. Driving conditions, parking location (garage vs outdoor), and weather all affect longevity. Driveway-only cars in good weather can stretch protection longer than commuters parked outside year-round.
